The Kip Tokuda Memorial Washington Civil Liberties Public Education Program

Through the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) this program provides grants intended to fund public educational activities and materials to ensure that the events surrounding the exclusion, forced removal, and incarceration of individuals of Japanese ancestry will be remembered, and the causes and circumstances of this and similar events will be addressed and understood.

We are pleased to announce that Puyallup Valley received one of six grants which will support our efforts in remembering the Puyallup Assembly Center, aka "Camp Harmony".  The activities include a professional video of our current presentation which will allow greater audiences thoughout the state.  A series of vertical banners with photos and graphics of Camp Harmony will be created along with a pamphlet to describe the banners.
